Where are the game fields in Dana Point?
All of the games for the Dana Point area will be held at Palisades Elementary at 26462 Via Sacramento

When are the games?
The game times vary but will be posted on the main website once the season starts. The first scheduled games are 9am and the last scheduled game of the day may be as late as 3pm.

When/where is practice? How many days a week?
The practice day and time is determined mainly be the volunteer coach with the support of the parents. Be sure that your player can make it to practice as it is the time when the coach will teach them plays and run drills to enhance the skills.

How many friends can we request?
You can request up to three friends and we will attempt to place everyone on the same team. We cannot guarantee this, but we will do our best.

Younger players who request to play with a older player will be moved to the next older division if the age gap is not too large.

My child is a good athlete, can he/she play on an older division?
Sure. We are comfortable with moving a player up in age division. We cannot, however, move a player down in age division due to ability/experience or desire to play with a friend.

What is included for the price?
Your player will receive a reversible jersey, flag, and awards that will be given throughout the season.

What do I need to supply?
Each player must wear a mouth guard, shorts/pants with NO belt loops or pockets (this does cause injury to the other players), and cleats are an optional choice.

How will we know what the schedules are?
The game schedules are posted on the main 5 on 5 Football website for the season. Your practice schedule can be posted by your coach and retrieved by your username and password to gain access to your personal page. This holds true for the snack schedule also.

Can I register now and send a check for payment?
Absolutely. Please complete the registration on this website and there will be an option in 'Payment' section where you choose to either pay by credit card or check. Your place in the league is not secure until we receive the check.

What is the refund policy?
o 30 days from close of registration is a 90% refund.
o 14 -30 days from close of registration is a 50% refund.
o There will be NO refund within 2 weeks of close of registration.

At any of the games. The cost is $10.00.

Does coaching take much time? I have a busy schedule.
This league is based on one weekday practice and one short practice prior to the game. You, as head coach, decide when and where to practice. Parents who have been unable to coach in the past, can now enjoy the coaching experience with a minimal time commitment.

Please consider spending a little extra time and volunteer to be a head coach, assistant coach or a team helper. We are committed to answer any questions you have throughout the season. In most cases, coaches ask to come back season after season in this type of league due to the minimal time commitment and the rewards of being involved in youth sports.

Do I need any previous football experience?
Certainly not! You do, however, need to enjoy spending time with kids and youth sports. It's that easy! Our coaching clinic will provide all the knowledge tools needed to coach Flag Football to the kids.

The success of the players, the team and the league are a direct result of the coaches. Realizing this, we have provided a library of information and technology to make the job simple and pleasurable.

Will there be background check?
Yes. We run a criminal background check on all of the coaches who will be teaching the kids.

Are there support practice drills or plays available?
You will have access to our library of pre-designed plays, simple effective drills and sample practice agendas, rotation rules and league rules.

What are the responsibilities of the Team Helper?
The Team Helper is a great person to have on every team. The duties are to notify the players of schedule reminders and let the coach know if any player is unable to make it to a practice or a game. This is important as the coaches have a strict rotation system that all team must abide by.

Will there be Coaches Clinics held?
We will hold a couple of coach clinics to provide drills and suggestions to get you started. In addition, you will have email and telephone access to our group of experienced Flag Football coaches.
