What is 5 on 5 Football?
5 on 5 Football is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Irvine, California. Our mission is to provide safe and enjoyable recreation for all program participants. We stress positive coaching and an environment where all children are given the opportunity to succeed.

How does the season work?
The Irvine league will play on Saturdays and will begin with an Orientation Day on January 16th, 2010. Each team is allowed only one weekday practice with the time and location set by the volunteer coach. There will be one scrimmage and 6 regular season games. The location for league events and games will be in Capistrano Beach this Winter season.

Teams consist of 8 (minimum) to 10 (maximum) players, with 5 on the game field at a time. Depending on enrollment, we may break these divisions apart differently. Children can play up in age division, but cannot play down. The league is open to boys and girls. There is a rotation system in place to monitor player field time.

How many friends can we request?
You can request up to three friends and we will attempt to place everyone on the same team. We cannot guarantee this, but we will do our best. Younger players who request to play with a older player will be moved to the next older division if the age gap is not too large.

Can I coach a team?
Absolutely! We are looking for and need volunteer coaches. No football experience is necessary. We will train you and give you a rule book and any support that may request. Coaches will be required to undergo training and agree to a background check.

What is the cost?
The cost for each participant is $125.(price reduced because games will be in Capistrano Beach this Winter season). This fee provides equipment for each participant that they keep (a reversible team jersey, flags, and awards), team equipment, and field rental. Items not supplied by the league: each player must wear a mouth guard, shorts/pants with NO belt loops or pockets (this does cause injury to the other players), and cleats are an optional choice.

How do I register my child?
The registration deadline is Friday, December 31st, but don't wait as space is limited due to field size & availability. Complete the online enrollment and payment. The league will be in touch to confirm your child's registration and with more information regarding the beginning of the season. Please call if registration date has past (888) 811-3524.
